VALE | Telephony
In 2008, Vale, one of the largest companies in the world, concluded that the whole company telephony system needed general improvement to reduce costs and increase the quality of the services offered. For such, a broad project encompassing land, mobile, and IP telephony, the management of the relationship with the telephony companies, equipment logistics, and the control of bills was made.
To meet such a demand, it was necessary deep knowledge of the processes and systems and cost sharing, the extension and maintenance of the facilities, as well as reorganization of the equipment, accessories, and cables (metal and optical) of the existing office telecommunication system of Vale all over Brazil.
As the company in charge of Vale’s telephony management processes and tools, NetService made a thorough survey of the existing structure in only three months and planned the necessary adaptations for complete and efficient work.
After analysis, it was started the telephony outsourcing work, which included monitoring service and 27×7 support of PABS switch boards, 27×7 mobile telephony, 24×7 environmental recovery (incidents), PSTN contract management , SPM, cost sharing, billing, and logistic control.
In October 2008, when NetService’s outsourcing contract started, all the needed processes were implemented, reflecting on several improvements of the telephony service of Vale.
At present, NetService contributes to the good operation of the switch boards and of thousands of sets, including land branches and mobile telephones and the reduction of costs of Vale.
